How long have you worked in the fleet industry?

My journey in the fleet industry spans seven years, preceded by 15 years in car dealerships and a background as an electrician. My diverse career has proven instrumental in executing Interleasing's strategy to transition clients into the realm of EVs.

 

What does your role entail, and what excites you about it?

Over the past year, I've been at the forefront of testing and developing new EV technologies with our supply chains. This includes innovative solutions such as an EV charge card compatible with various public charging networks and dynamic load management for cost-effective home charging. The continuous innovation in this space keeps me engaged and excited.

 

What challenges do you help solve for clients?

A: Leveraging my electrical trade background, I bring a unique perspective to the challenges of EV charging infrastructure. By integrating components from the solar industry into EV chargers, we've successfully reduced costs for our clients, resulting in a more reliable system for users.

 

What are the biggest opportunities in the EV space for fleet managers?

With FBT exemptions for eligible EVs and the evolving technology landscape, fleet managers have a unique opportunity to upgrade their fleets cost-effectively. The surge in EV sales during the first quarter of 2023, totaling 17,396 units, signals a clear shift toward EVs in the automotive landscape.

What was your first job?

I worked in various family businesses during my formative years and held a position at Coles while in high school.

 

What inspires you?

The ever-evolving technology landscape inspires me. Witnessing the proliferation of longer-range EVs and collaborating with manufacturers to develop innovative solutions for our clients is a source of genuine excitement.
