MMS Teams Make an Impact at Tree-Planting Events

MMS actively participates in annual tree planting days to support Greenfleet’s mission of reforesting cleared land with native species and rejuvenating lost ecosystems. With over 25 years of experience, Greenfleet and their partners such as MMS have helped to plant 10.3 million trees across 550 forests. Each year Greenfleet invest over $1 million into regional economies through revegetation operations by buying, hiring and sourcing locally from seed collectors, earth movers, tree planters, weed management teams and indigenous plant nurseries.

Our staff's involvement in tree planting events reflects our commitment to a low carbon future and provides our people with an opportunity to step away from their day-to-day roles and responsibilities. They participate in tree planting days across the country and experience a  Welcome to Country from local indigenous leaders, learn about biodiversity and get hands-on planting trees  contributing to a greener future.

In 2023  MMS volunteers in VIC, SA, and NSW collectively planted approximately 3,000 trees. Victoria: CEO Rob De Luca, Head of Corporate Affairs Rohan Martin, and Sustainability Coordinator Dhwani Desai planted nearly 1,500 trees at Glendalough  on Boon Wurrung Country in South Gippsland.

“This was the first time for me planting trees and making a real impact to the environment. The location was thoughtfully selected by Greenfleet to restore biodiversity in the region. It was rainy and muddy that day, but it did not stop us from going and at the end we felt extremely satisfied with the entire experience. I would love to do it again next year to support MMS’s environmental sustainability initiative.” – Dhwani Desai, Sustainability Coordinator

South Australia: Adam Henderson, Josh Lee, and Andrew Payze planted 500 trees at Bull Creek in Ngarrindjeri Country, Mt Observation.

“It really was a fantastic experience to participate in the GreenFleet tree planting event. To be immersed in nature through the stunning Adelaide countryside playing our part as a team in the sustainability endeavours of MMS and our state of SA was both rewarding and uplifting. The event was very well organised and I was amazed by how many trees we could plant in three hours.” – Andrew Payze, National Manager, Client Engagement
