Our history
Our story begins over 30 years ago.
-
McMillan Shakespeare and Associates (MSA) provider of remuneration advice and FBT administration services was created as Australia’s first ever salary packaging business. Founded by Anthony Podesta, the business grew from a family run operation in Melbourne, to opening offices in Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide.
-
MSA was the first business to launch a novated leasing product to the Australian market, helping Australians enjoy potential tax benefits and more access to vehicles.
-
MSA was rebranded to MMS and was listed on the ASX. In this same year, MMS also acquired PKF Remuneration Services, now known as RemServ. Maxxia was established in 2009, and Interleasing was acquired by MMS in 2010.
-
MMS expanded into NDIS plan and support services with the creation of Plan Partners and later the acquisition of Plan Tracker in 2021.
-
We launched our direct-to-market novated leasing brand Oly, which specialises in taking the fuss out of novated leasing for small to medium businesses. We also celebrated the launch of our new digital platforms My Maxxia and My RemServ to help our customers manage their employee benefits smoothly and seamlessly via mobile and desktop.
-
Our disability plan management and support coordination services grew strength to strength with the acquisition of My Plan Support, which provides genuine and local support to NDIS participants in the Newcastle / Hunter region.
Our team
The board oversees the strategic direction of the organisation with a focus on all governance issues and associated business functions.
Our executives are a dynamic group with a strong set of complementary skills and an excellent balance of experience, qualifications and leadership.

MMS partners with Greenfleet – Australia’s first offset provider – to offer carbon offsets to our customers to help reduce the impact of their vehicles on the environment, and to offset carbon associated with our own scope 1 and 2 emissions.
In FY23, we entered a 2-year partnership with Jigsaw Australia to support enhanced employment opportunities and outcomes for people with disabilities. We extended our partnership for a further 12 months.
