The story behind our office feature artwork
A piece of beautiful custom artwork adds warmth and character to any space, especially an office space. As part of the refurbishment of our Brisbane office, MMS commissioned a feature artwork for our communal staff kitchen.
As a provider of NDIS plan management and disability support services, we wanted to support local artists living with disability. We have previously worked with Studio A, an incredible collective of Australian artists with disability, to commission a feature piece for the office kitchen in our Melbourne head office. This piece was created by talented artist Emily Crockford, and we were fortunate enough to get to work with Emily again for our Brisbane feature artwork.
Emily has titled the painting Wavy Sandy Flowers in the Clouds and shared her inspiration: "It makes me think of the Brisbane landscape, laying in the sand, relaxing with my toes in the water. To you wonderful McMillan Shakespeare people, I hope you love the beautiful colours of the beach and that it makes you feel calm, like when you look at a sunset."
The artwork has certainly provided a serene touch to the Brisbane communal kitchen, and a beautiful backdrop to lunch hour. Thank you to Emily and Studio A for this custom piece.
