A key pillar of the MMS Sustainability strategy is supporting a low carbon economy. We aim to deliver positive environmental outcomes for our customers, clients and wider community.

One way we support this strategy is through our partnership with environmental not-for-profit Greenfleet, Australia’s first carbon offset provider.

Our fleet management business Interleasing has been in partnership with Greenfleet for 10 years, and MMS has been an official partner for five years.

“One of our sustainability goals is to support the transition to a low carbon economy,” said Adam Morrison, MMS Chief Operating Officer. “We chose to partner with Greenfleet to provide a solution to our customers who were looking to take accountability for the emissions associated with their fleets or vehicles through a novated lease.”

Since partnering with Greenfleet in 2015, Interleasing has enabled 6,800+ tonnes of CO2-e to be removed from the atmosphere. To further our commitment to being part of the transition to a low carbon economy, MMS offsets its residual Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions.

MMS has supported the reforestation of several major Greenfleet projects, including at Strzelecki Nature Link on Boonwurrung Country in Victoria, Bull Creek on Ngarrindjeri Country in South Australia and Ivory Creek, growing on Yuggera Country in Southeast Queensland.

Greenfleet’s tree-planting days are a popular way for our people to utilise their volunteer leave and take a paid day away from the office to spend time in nature. They learn about forests, biodiversity and the cultural history of their local Country, which also supports MMS’s Reconciliation Action Plan. Forests planted by our team members and Greenfleet are protected for up to 100 years, delivering environmental benefits for generations to come.

Environmental initiatives at MMS

With our goal of supporting the transition to a low carbon economy, in FY25 MMS achieved environmental measures such as:

“Sustainability is an important component of the MMS strategy and aligns with our purpose of making a positive difference to people’s lives,” said Adam. “By partnering with Greenfleet we’re able to proactively account for our emissions today whilst looking at ways to continue to reduce our emissions.”
